The Town of Essex and Village of Essex Junction, Vermont are seeking an Assistant Manager to work under the Unified Town/Village Manager in areas such as personnel oversight, diversity and inclusion, project management, operational management, departmental management, and leadership. This position works under the direction of the Unified Manager and works in accordance with all Town policies. In general, the regular work hours per week are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, hours may vary depending upon needs of the municipality. Attendance at Village Trustee and Town Selectboard meetings, and other boards and committees/commissions as required. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, or other relevant field, and four (4) years of responsible experience in local governmental administration or other equivalent work experience; MPA preferred. Previous supervisory experience is also preferred.
