Superplastic is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing to grow our character-based product and entertainment brand. Superplastic creates animated celebrities on social media, as well as movies, streaming shows, and some of the world’s most sought-after art toys, character-based apparel, and other amazing products.
Highly creative and with a passion for social media & pop culture trends, the Director of Marketing is responsible for the development and execution of strategic initiatives for all Superplastic marketing channels, including mobile messaging, social media, online advertising, events, partnerships, website/SEO, guerrilla marketing and PR.
You’ll leverage the in-depth knowledge of Superplastic’s consumers and social media fan base, combined with fashion, related pop-culture movements, competition, global social media marketing trends, and market data to grow our virtual celebrity social followings, limited edition toy and apparel sales, and brand status.
The key to this role is conceptualizing clear goals and executing them using strategies that are authentic to Superplastic’s long-term brand identity and values. The best candidate is imaginative, entrepreneurial, and dynamic business acumen, as well as strong copywriting, communication, project management, and analytical skills to be successful.

-Establish and meet targets for virtual celebrity follower growth, PR, and other branding initiatives.
-Support interdepartmental KPIs, including streaming media and product sales.
-Lead your team’s strategic direction in support of ongoing multi-year business plans and priorities.
-Design, execute, and drive multifaceted marketing strategies and campaigns, with a focus on social media as well as innovative guerilla marketing and offline partnerships.
-Assist in the art of storytelling and innovative content marketing, using the science behind data to inform the ideation and optimization process.
-Possess exceptional conceptual and creative sensibilities and the ability to successfully lead a team to execute across a range of digital experiences.
-Uphold the Superplastic brand and ensure a high-quality level establishing consistency across multiple projects and touchpoints.
-Work closely with Operations and Sales to create strategic e-Commerce plans & SEO optimization driving sustainable growth in sales & sell-through.
-Control budgets and allocate resources amongst initiatives.
-Oversee the direction of social media and influencer-based online ad campaigns and spend based on opportunity.
-Provide media relations support, including writing press releases, working with media contacts, and monitoring and flagging important news stories, trends.
-At least 10 years of experience creating & executing marketing plans in both traditional and online marketing.
-An intuitive sense of style, art, and design in areas of popular culture such as streetwear, animation, music, and online entertainment.

-You should enjoy making and maintaining connections with brands, influencers, and celebrities.
-Experience working within budgets.
-Proficiency in Google Analytics reporting and analysis and a strong understanding of SEO/e-Commerce best practices
-Analytical when tying back performance with optimization strategies.
