Animal Control Officer Part Time

The Town of Jericho is looking for an Animal Control Officer to serve in an on-call capacity.  This position includes but is not limited to investigating complaints pertaining to domestic animals (i.e., dogs running at large, unregistered dogs, bites, barking and cruelty reports) and must meet the performance expectation of the Animal Control Officer and enforcing the Domestic Pet Ordinance.  Required knowledge of local and state ordinances would be helpful, skills in apprehension of animals without cause harm, proper use of animal control equipment and the ability to interact thoughtfully and communicate professionally with the public and other town officials. This position requires a valid VT driver’s license and availability to work irregular hours.
