The Homeless Outreach Services Provider will assist individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness and who have low income to find long term housing, including advocating for clients with local social service agencies organizations, landlords and funding sources. They will work with individuals to provide essential services including food, clothing and hygiene products as well as access to mainstream benefits. They will work with participants to develop a housing plan, set goals, and help participants stay on course.
Successful applicants will have a Bachelor degree in an appropriate discipline plus two years of community service experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable skills and knowledge are acquired. Effective verbal and written communication skills required with a high degree of organizational skills is necessary (bilingual abilities are a plus!). Ability to interact effectively with a diverse population, landlords and other social service providers, understand poverty and have a commitment to addressing it on an individual and systemic level, have a clean driving record, valid driver’s license and access to reliable private transportation.
