Burlington Housing Authority (BHA) is seeking an experienced Fund Development and Communications Manager (FDCM) to be a key contributor in shaping the public voice and image of the organization. This role is divided equally between two interconnected areas of responsibility: fund development and communications.
The FDCM will create compelling grants and marketing assets to help BHA communicate its impact with funders and the public at large; develop and manage a portfolio of funders; maintain and improve the grants management system; generate proposals, budgets, support materials and submit the final grant applications.
In partnership with leadership, this role will develop, implement, and maintain an integrated strategic communications plan to have consistent communications that advance BHA’s brand identity and visibility; and position leaders with targeted, high-level external audiences; develop and maintain a communications plan and calendar; review external facing communication to ensure cohesive and mission driven messaging.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in English, public relations/affairs, marketing communications, journalism, or related field; a minimum of three years of grant experience, including writing, securing, and managing governmental, foundation, and corporate funding; a minimum of three years of communications experience, including marketing, public relations, public affairs, or related field.
Candidates must have superlative writing, editing, and proofreading skills; the ability to organize and present a logical, persuasive, and compelling case or narrative; quickly produce the highest quality writing for a variety of audiences and media formats; have excellent project management skills, successfully managing priorities and completing within deadlines to produce quality results on time and with attention to detail. Knowledge of and commitment to BHA’s programs, affordable housing, and mental health services is desired. Proficient in Microsoft Office is a plus.
