Horsford’s retail garden center is like a botanical garden, complete with stunning display gardens and antique glass greenhouses. Garden Center Associates assist customers with selecting the best plants for their landscape. Associates keep plant displays tidy, restock plants, and operate our computerized point of sale system.
Botanical knowledge or work experience in a garden center selling hardy trees, shrubs, and perennials is a benefit. Willingness to cross train in order to assist other departments is a plus.
Associates have excellent customer service and genuine interest in horticulture. It is important to be clean, courteous and physically fit, as you’ll be walking miles a day in all types of weather.
Work Conditions
-Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment in Vermont’s ever-changing weather
-Must be able to lift 50 pounds
-Each member of our staff works a five-day, 40-hour work week, which includes working one weekend day
