About the Position:
We are seeking a dynamic leader and visible member of the campus community who understands and celebrates community policing and the educational and service role of policing within an institution of higher education to serve as its next Chief of Police. The Chief will lead the department, while providing supervision and strategic direction to all command, line, and auxiliary employees. The Chief also supervises the campus Lock Shop and the Office of Emergency Management. Work will be mainly day shift, but the successful candidate must be willing to work some nights, holidays, weekends, and recall as needed to meet department objectives and university needs.
The University Police Department (UPD) provides law enforcement services to protect the safety and well-being of students, faculty, staff and visitors to the university. We are part of the Enrollment and Student Success division, which supports a student’s entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. We partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety and well-being of the student body.
