Lead youth Crew Members in vegetable production and harvest, raising chickens, and cooking in the commercial kitchen. There are 12 positions available with various focuses including: Production, Community Health, Post Harvest, Food & Nourishment and leading crews. Instruct cooking skills and guide crews through making the daily lunch that is shared with everyone working on the farm. Nurture the farm’s propagation house (getting crops started from seed) and wash-pack house (washing harvested vegetables) as crews cycle through to learn and complete these tasks. Facilitate Health Care Share enrollment; lead Health Care Share packing and delivery. Support Farm program staff in nearly all aspects of farm production. Learn about soil health, bed preparation, irrigation, livestock management and tractor operation. These are all AmeriCorps positions.
