The Joint Urban Ministry Project/JUMP – Burlington, Vermont
Based in Burlington Vermont, JUMP manages an Outreach Center that assists thousands of Vermont households and individuals in need each year in practical, thoughtful ways. Founded in 1988 in response to increased poverty, JUMP has long been a reliable source for needed assistance, thoughtful, informed referrals and hospitality. Originally founded by Burlington faith communities as a collaborative, interfaith outreach effort, JUMP is an independent 501(c)(3) Vermont non-profit organization that brings the wider community together in response to the real needs of families and individuals. In 2025, JUMP assisted 4,398 adults and children (2,634 households) from 33 Vermont towns and cities/7 counties.
The Development & Communications Coordinator supports JUMP fundraising initiatives, donor communications and social media presence to help achieve annual fundraising goals while helping to build strong relationships with faith communities, donors, and community partners.
Position Type: Part-time, 20-25 hours per week; $25/hour; reports to JUMP Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising & Development (Primary Focus)
● Work with the Board of Directors and key volunteers, collaborating to:
Database & Technology Management
● Utilize donor management system (Little Green Light) to support the fundraising plan; maintain accurate donor/grantor profiles, generate reports;
● Manage donor correspondence and acknowledgment letters.
Communications & Marketing
● Work with the Board of Directors and key volunteers, collaborating to:
Qualifications
Required:
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit development; communications, or related field.
● 1-2 years’ experience in fundraising, donor relations, &/or nonprofit communications.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Proficiency in donor database management; Microsoft Office.
● Experience with e-newsletter platforms, social media; basic graphic design (e.g. Canva).
Preferred:
● Experience with faith community-based fundraising or faith community outreach.
● Grant writing experience.
