Are you passionate about animal care and welfare? The University of Vermont’s research facility is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team on a part-time, temporary basis. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a professional and supportive environment.
What You’ll Do:
Perform routine checkups, treatments, and medical procedures on research animals.
Assist investigators with technical procedures, including administering medication, injections, and anesthesia, as well as blood collection and tissue harvesting.
Ensure animal health and welfare, maintaining compliance with AAALAC International and local, state, and federal guidelines.
Manage detailed records, quarantine facilities, and the pharmacy area.
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field with 2–3 years of experience, OR an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology with 5 years of experience.
Commitment to upholding animal welfare legislation and best practices.
Valid driver’s license (driver’s check required).
