Intake Clinician Full Time NEW

This position is responsible for coordinating referrals, facilitating intakes, and completing clinical biopsychosocial assessments for the Riverstone Counseling program.  It requires the coordination of a variety of services revolving around a youth’s access to treatment and supporting the youth to be successful. Communicating progress to multiple service providers in a timely manner is essential to the position.  This position includes procedural and documentation of all incoming referrals, as well as providing clinical assessment, connecting youth to community resources, and communicating with Riverstone Counseling staff.  The ability to multitask, be flexible, maintain attention to detail, and complete paperwork in a timely manner is essential. This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position starting at $50,000.00 annually and will be available for an August 1^st start date.

Essential Functions

• Provide intake and assessment for the Riverstone Counseling Program
  • Receive and upload referrals
  • Create youth profile in electronic health record system
  • Communicate with original referral contact
  • Screen for appropriateness for the program
  • Support and work with youth to complete all necessary intake paperwork
  • Assess youth’s needs utilizing a biopsychosocial model and make recommendations regarding recommended level of care

• Communicate with Riverstone Counseling staff regarding referrals
  • Develop detailed overview of each referral
  • Schedule, organize and facilitate meetings with Riverstone Counseling staff
  • Attend all program staff meetings
  • Monitor & communicate progress related to the referrals and waitlists

• Maintain youth files and databases in an accurate and timely manner
• Act as a community resource regarding referrals and placements for youth
  • Be knowledgeable about all Spectrum Programs available
  • Make appropriate community referrals based on client’s needs.

• Participate in weekly supervision
• Compile and deliver data for grant reporting as assigned by supervisor
• Contribute to the overall improvement and quality of the programs work environment, and in all service coordination and work with residents

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field from an accredited program.
• Licensed or license eligible in mental health counseling, social work, or alcohol and drug counseling.
• Knowledge and understanding of adolescent development and at-risk youth including mental health and substance abuse issues; trauma; attachment issues; complex family dynamics; developmental challenges
• Strong clinical writer and ability to keep accurate and timely documentation.

Work Environment
