Householder at Riverflow Community Full Time

Overview
The Householder (residential House Manager) plays a central role in supporting the well-being of Friends (residents) within the Riverflow Community. Through lifesharing and collaborative caregiving, Householders create a warm, therapeutic home environment while ensuring high standards of care, staff support, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with a co-householder, you will oversee daily household operations, mentor coworkers, and help Friends live meaningful, healthy, and dignified lives.

Key Responsibilities
Community & Compliance

• Uphold Riverflow policies, Vermont Therapeutic Community Residence (TCR) regulations, and System of Care requirements.
• Maintain compliance with licensing standards and communicate with case managers, guardians, and state agencies as needed.

Resident Support & Care

• Foster a welcoming, inclusive home environment for Friends and coworkers.
• Support Friends in daily living, personal care, healthy routines, and meaningful participation in home life.
• Review individual support plans, maintain records, and coordinate progress updates.
• Schedule and attend medical appointments as needed.

Medication Management

• Oversee medication administration, documentation, and staff delegation.
• Train coworkers in medication procedures and ensure compliance with all requirements.
• Document and report medication errors or incidents promptly.

Nutrition & Household Management

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals guided by holistic principles.
• Maintain organized food storage, inventory, and cleaning schedules.
• Involve Friends in meal planning, cooking, and shopping.

Staff Training & Leadership

• Onboard, mentor, and support coworkers.
• Provide training in medication management, hygiene practices, and community living.
• Foster a positive team culture through communication, feedback, and collaboration.

Home Maintenance & Incident Reporting

• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe living environment.
• Document and report incidents according to community and state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Commitment to lifesharing and participation in an Intentional Camphill Community.
• Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or in therapeutic care settings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of restorative justice, nonviolent communication (NVC), and person-centered care.
• Experience with medication management and regulatory compliance preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience; Camphill experience is a plus.
