Our team of professionals at the Northern Digital Inc. (NDI) office located in Shelburne, Vermont are currently recruiting for a Hardware Design Engineer with experience in product design and development.
How You Will Make an Impact
You will be responsible for detailed design and development of electromagnetic tracking systems, from conception to implementation, and will work as part of a cross-functional R&D team, building solutions for our OEM partners. This role requires someone with a proven record of implementing and integrating embedded hardware systems. The successful candidate will be dependable, highly organized, and effective at hardware design and implementation, as well as system integration, documentation support and test.
The successful candidate will be joining our team of professionals at the Northern Digital office located in Shelburne, Vermont.
What you’ll be Doing:
In addition to hardware design, you are expected to:
Design to NDI’s internal development standards, and produce associated technical documentation to meet design control requirements, including documenting requirements and specifications
Help the team to collaborate and integrate designs with the embedded system software group
Prepare material and participate in peer reviews
Participate in defining/developing appropriate tests for the embedded designs
Ensure completion is timely, striving to meet or exceed project milestones
What you’ll bring to the role:
BS or advanced degree in Electrical engineering or other related technical discipline, with 15+ years of experience doing HW design.
Circuit and layout design and review for mixed signal circuits
Familiarity with lab equipment used to circuit analysis and troubleshoot
Signal processing concepts
ARM processors, FPGA design, wireless/Bluetooth design, digital interfaces
Familiarity with Python, Linux, Altium
Familiarity with Agile frameworks including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket

Ability to initiate and take on work independently with minimal guidance
Good personal organization as well as written and oral communication skills
Capability for generating technical design documentation
Desired Characteristics/Additional Assets:
Magnetics/physics/mathematics background
Analog design, including Spice simulation knowledge
Experience integrating with FPGAs
