Expected to begin Spring or Fall 2025 this full-time, tenure-track position will be responsible for teaching core journalism courses including writing, history, and ethics. The successful candidate may be asked to teach courses in a distance learning format. We are looking for someone who has a broad range of journalism skills combined with other specialized skills that can help our students be prepared for careers in this rapidly changing field. Service to the department and university, as well as maintaining an active research agenda, are other responsibilities of this position. The Journalism & Public Relations department works to prepare our students for careers in journalism and public relations by encouraging our students to gain practical experiences from day one.We pride ourselves on teaching our students at an expert level while augmenting their in classroom learning with student-run practicums and exciting internships. Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Journalism or a related field
Professional journalism experience
Classroom teaching experience
Evidence of potential to establish and implement a scholarly research agenda
A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff and administrators
