The Lake Champlain Waldorf School is accepting applications for a High School Science Teacher. We welcome applications to join our supportive and collegiate group of Upper School teachers in providing an interdisciplinary, developmentally-aligned Waldorf Education to our high school students. Our Upper School teachers work collaboratively and in partnership with our full Faculty and Staff to support our eldest students.
Qualifications
• Minimum qualification: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college of university.
• Waldorf teacher training or an interest in pursuing training.
• Teaching experience with demonstrated ability to teach out of a phenomenological approach consistent with Waldorf educational philosophy.
• Dedication to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students. Proven track record of effectively engaging students. A commitment to each student’s success.
• Commitment to continuous improvement on a personal and professional basis.
Summary of Duties
• Teaching Science Main Lesson and track classes to students in grades 9-12, and potentially grades 7 and 8.
• Supporting extracurricular activities and sharing in administrative responsibilities.
• Collaborating with a dynamic team of teachers.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a base salary of $42,000 plus additional increments for years of experience up to $72,000+. Employees also receive a benefit payment of $8,400 annually in lieu of health insurance, tuition remission, short-term disability, access to professional development funds, and access to a faculty care fund. In addition, every new teacher works with a mentor. This is a full-time position. Moving stipend or signing bonus offered to qualified candidates.
