Golden Dog Farm is a 275 acre farm in Jeffersonville, VT. Aside from hosting Golden Retriever Experiences, wine tastings and farm tours, we grow organic grapes and produce wood-fired maple syrup. And with more than 200 flowering fruit trees that need pollinating (plums, cherries, apple, pear..), we produce honey! With three different apiaries (both Langstroth and Slovenian beehives) we are looking for a seasonal worker to help us manage the colonies and help us with our educational Bee Experiences.
We are looking for a reliable, hard working happy candidate with attention to detail an interest in learning and the ability to follow instructions. Ideally, we’d love to find someone that has some beekeeping experience, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with an outgoing, dynamic personality that relates well with the guests visiting the farm.
The position requires the ability to lift at least 50 pounds to your waist. Job duties include: building frames and hives, managing hives (inspections, splitting hives, mite management, etc.), extracting and bottling honey and in some cases, hosting Bee Experiences with visiting guests. This is a guaranteed part-time position (minimum) starting in May and running through mid-October.
