Gardening Assistant Full Time Seasonal

The Gardening Assistant works closely with our Lead Gardener at the nursery. It is the job of the gardening team to keep the display gardens well maintained and worth the visit to Horsford’s. Daily activities could include watering, weeding, deadheading, planting perennials, annuals and shrubs. The crew performs spring and fall clean-ups on Horsford’s grounds in addition to various client properties. This position will also have the chance to work with Distinctive Landscaping (the design|build landscape architecture firm based at the nursery) on installation projects.

In May, the garden team works to plant annuals in Burlington, Vergennes, Milton and Essex. There are also a few private gardens they tend to on a weekly basis.

Work Conditions
-Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment in Vermont’s ever-changing weather
-Must be able to lift 50 pounds
-The Gardening Assistant works Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
