The Director of Finance is responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of financial information and systems for the organization. Duties includes establishing, implementing and maintaining all systems for recording, reconciling and monitoring all agency financial transactions; budgeting; internal and external reporting; establishing and monitoring internal controls and oversight of contracts and leases. The Director of Finance shares responsibility of supporting the IT and facilities needs of the Agency with the Chief Operating Officer. The Director supervises accounting staff and the Director of Human Resources. This position is a member of the Leadership Circle. It is an exempt position with an annual salary of $100.000.00.
o Ensure that internal controls are adequate and current and are being followed
o Prepare and interpret financial statements, cost data and management information, including comparisons with budgeted amounts
o Prepare the annual operating budget in collaboration with program and department managers
o Prepare and interpret individual program budgets and meet monthly with all program directors to review results. Work with Executive Director in responding to significant variances.
o Supervise the processing and accuracy of agency payroll
o Review all disbursements for propriety
o Oversee the accounting for a wholly owned subsidiary, including consolidations for reporting
o Coordinate and collaborate with Chief Development & Communications Officers and grant writers in the preparation of private funder grant budgets prior to grant submissions and grant expenditure reporting per donor criteria.
o Communicate with state, Federal and agency funding organizations regarding contract renewals, budgets, and financial reporting
o Establish and maintain all grant allocation spreadsheets for proper recording in financial reports.
o Establish and follow system for monitoring grants and contracts sufficient to meet requirements of each funder and those of the Agency
o Prepare financial reports and coordinate with appropriate staff for program reports for timely submission as required by each funding source
o Monitor and track expenses for compliance with funding source requirements, as well as agency budget and policies
o Prepare timely periodic invoices in accordance with requirements of each grant or contract
o Oversee receipt and recording of all cash receipts and on-line banking transactions
o Maintain and manage cash receipt records for all funding sources
o Monitor cash flow and cash balances
o Develop and maintain agency pay scales in relation to job descriptions
o Develop and maintain agency employee compensation package, including benefits, to remain competitive in the labor marketplace and add to the agency being a favored place to work
o Participate in review of and decisions related to on-going annual employee benefit contracts
o Ensure the proper maintenance of human resource and payroll records
o Supervise Director of Human Resources
