Lake Champlain Waldorf School seeks a Development and Events Coordinator. This role plays a key role in supporting the school’s fundraising, advancement, and community-building efforts. This individual is responsible for assisting with donor relations, database management, event coordination, and general administrative support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about education and philanthropy.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience preferred (in Communications, Marketing, or Education).
• 1-3 years of experience in development, fundraising, or nonprofit administration and commitment to raising money in a nonprofit setting
• Proficiency in donor databases (e.g., Ravenna, Bloomerang, Little Green Light or similar CRM).
• High level of computer literacy in Excel, Word, Google Apps, mail merge and spreadsheet manipulation.
• Impeccable follow-through and tenacity with details.
• Ability to break tasks down into sequential chunks, event planning and coordination, and excellent attention to detail.
• Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Schedule flexibility to work during a couple peak weeks and some weekends.
Duties:
• Assist in donor cultivation, stewardship, and recognition efforts.
• Prepare donor acknowledgment letters and tax receipts.
• Support annual fund campaign, major gift initiatives, and planned giving programs.
• Maintain and update donor records in the fundraising database and support transition to Ravenna from Sustain database.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy in donor records.
• Support planning and execution of fundraising and community events (e.g., annual gala, alumni reunions, donor receptions).
• Manage event logistics, including invitations, RSVPs, and vendor coordination.
• Assist with event setup, on-site support, and follow-up activities for events.
• Evaluate events and actively help to brainstorm new events or improve on our school’s events.
• Assist with the creation of fundraising appeals, newsletters, and social media content.
• Process donations and generate reports for reconciliation with the Business Office.
• Provide administrative support for the Director of Community Relations and other team members.
