The Clemmons Family Farm’s A Sense of Place project is funded by ArtPlace America. We use creative placemaking focused on African American and African diaspora arts and culture programs that help build community. The Program Admin and Community Outreach position helps coordinate the activities of the A Sense of Place project’s team of consultants, artists and community volunteers through project administration. This position also involves community outreach work by building relationships with artists, community liaisons, schools and clients primarily in the six towns covered by the A Sense of Place project: Charlotte, Shelburne, Hinesburg, South Burlington, Burlington and Winooski.
This is an independent contractor position. The maximum compensation for this work is $1600 per month. The estimated time needed for this position is 20 hours a week:
about 5 hours can be done remotely through email, phone, Skype, etc.
and the other 15 hours will be done mainly on-site at the Clemmons Family Farm in Charlotte during weekends and sometimes at meeting places in the six towns.
This is a very fun job if you like meeting people and are eager to learn more about African American and African diaspora art, history, culture and people. It does requires someone who is reliable, responsive and can get the work done. A car and daily access to a computer with internet are required for this position; residence in one of the six towns covered by the project is required.
