The Vermont State Colleges is seeking a professional payroll director to oversee all aspects of system payroll operations. The position will coordinate with all system colleges and universities and ensure that service is delivered at the highest level to the Community. The focus will be on quality, productivity, consistency in an environment that fosters employee engagement, support continuous improvement, manage risks and ensure compliance with all regulations and policies. This position will supervise two to three payroll staff.
We are seeking a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 7 to 10 years demonstrated experience in finance, payroll and/or accounting, with at least 3 years directly involved with payroll functions, proven customer service skills and at least 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience. Preference given to candidates certified in payroll processing such as a Certified Payroll Professional from the American Payroll Association.
