Controller Full Time

Butternut Mountain Farm is a Vermont based, family owned maple syrup company. As Controller, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Accounting Department and working closely with departments throughout the organization.

Qualified individuals will have demonstrated experience and expertise in the following areas:

• Managing and developing the Accounting Staff in the functional areas of accounts receivable and credit, accounts payable, inventory controlling, intercompany accounting, fixed asset and project accounting, and retail.
• Financial reporting with a strong knowledge of GAAP, experience in consolidation is a plus.
• Cash planning and management
• Consolidated Budgeting and Forecasting
• Year-end planning and working closely with external auditors
• Product and Activity Costing
• Developing and expanding Internal Control initiatives
• Working in an ERP environment and having the ability to implement accounting software applications.

The successful candidate must be able to lead and build the Accounting Team and be highly ethical and reliable. Important qualities include being able to prioritize in a fast-paced setting, being forward-thinking, analytical, an excellent problem solver and a good communicator. This position reports directly to the CFO.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 8 years of experience that is on par with the requirements.
